Dope art.

I met this dude at my job the other nite, and he was mad cool. He also happens to be a dope artist...AND the lead dude in the NYC cast of Fuerza Bruta....here's the link to his site...you gotta go to his Resume link, then all the way at the bottom click on the Art link...that takes you to his photo gallery with all his work.

Here's that Three 6/Tiesto track's video.

Delayed post...

but better late than never, I say. Anyway, I have a ton of new/new to me music y'all should check out asap, so bear with me. I'll post some videos too. Enjoy.

Diplo & Laidback Luke - Hey EP...dope electro/house/bassy/synthy shit, can't help but make you move and shake...or something like that.
Kanye West - Stronger (A-Trak remix)...self-explanatory.
Three 6 Mafia feat. Sean Kingston, Flo Rida, & Tiesto (yes, him) - Feel It...I was skeptical about this collabo at first, but it's actually a pretty dope track for the clubs...so props to them...and extra props for collabing with Tiesto, who I'm not a fan of really, but it's always great to have different genre artists making some good music.
MGMT - Electric Feel (Justice Remix)...I'm not a fan of MGMT at all, but Justice did a great job of making this popular track dope enough for me to enjoy it. (saw Justice live last Friday, I'll post about that later, with pics and videos!)
Daft Punk - Human After All (Guy-Man After All Justice Remix)...omg...HOT shit...straight up.
N.A.S.A. - The Spirit of Apollo...an album that was like 7 yrs in the making...featuring some of the weirdest, but coolest sets of line-ups for collabos...good stuff.
Walé feat. Lady Gaga - Chillin...good shit.
Walé- Pretty Girls...catchy hook, and dope track overall.

Hotness at it's best!

Finally found that new Beyonce featuring Lady Gaga video for "Video Phone Remix"...girls (and gay dudes) would call this shit "fierce"...fellas (and gay chicks) would call this HOT!...enjoy.

Random videos I came across...

Soooo, I don't really like The Fray, but the video below makes me respect them at least. The other video is of the DJ Hero game, that I'm strongly considering bringing into my life...maybe. And the last video is The White Lies' version of another 'Ye song...maybe I'll make another post with other peeps doing Kanye covers? Or maybe doing covers in general? Hmmm...anyway, that's it for now. Peace & love.

I have some stuff to do during the day, like hit the gym...been 4 days since I've been able to, so I can't wait! Anyway, I really do have A LOT to say, so I'll be posting a lengthy update or 2 later for sure. Peace and love.

Making the effort peeps...

What up! I'm consciously making an effort to stay up on the bloggin' tip...well, more importantly, I wanna stay current and relative to what's going on today, with me and in general. So yea, I'm gonna try my best to post something everyday, or at least a few times a week. I don't wanna force blog either, ya know? The idea is to blog about shit that's on your mind...whether it's current events, interests, arts, etc. Anyway, for now, I'll leave y'all with this...probably the hottest cypher I've ever seen, in today's world at least. It was shown on Tuesday nite, on the 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards. There were a few cyphers shown, but this one features Mos Def, Black Thought (of The Roots), and Eminem. The shit had me outta my chair and hyped up. THIS is what hip hop is about...shame how it's become all about swag and catchy dance moves, huh? Enjoy.

Love this track!

There's a track by Consequence feat. Kanye & John Legend that is FIIIIRE! It's called "What You Want", and it's kinda catchy. Anyway, I posted a clip of this track a while back, but the video finally came out...and I'm glad to see Ye back to work! The video's pretty dope, of course, but due to YouTube disabling the embedding on the video, here's the link. Enjoy.

Thursday, October 22, 2009

Ok, I'm back!

Gonna post some dope videos for your viewing pleasure (thanks to Ye's blog)...videos like these are what keeps me motivated to pursue my dreams in the music biz...enjoy!

Ok so...

I'm updating my blog.............kinda, but I'll post more tomorrow...hopefully!

Friday, October 9, 2009

Ok, so I suck at updating often, but whatev, I've been busy...and kinda lazy I guess.

Anyway, I've had a lot going on with work, but I will nonetheless be releasing a single on iTunes next week! We're pretty hyped about that...by "we", I mean Diversatile, my group...which consists of Acin, Morelli (myself), and DJ Trace 1NE. The single is called "I Get Real", and is a direct shot at all that trendy/pop hip hop shit on the radio over the past couple of years. The track was recorded back in '07, but it's incredible how it still applies today. With more and more wack ass rappers and groups coming out, this song will hopefully be part of the new movement of real hip hop making its way back to the surface. We'll see how it goes, but regardless, we're hyped about it...as it's been a LONG time coming...and we fuckin' deserve it! Real talk! Don't get me wrong, I'm not bragging at all, but the track is fire! Both Acin's and myself spit a verse about keeping it real in the hip hop game, and in general. We were planning on releasing an EP of 5 or 6 tracks that we have done, but we decided to drop a single now to get the ball rolling at least. We're planning to drop a 2nd single shortly after the release of "I Get Real", so I'll keep y'all posted. Either way, it should be a great way to end the year...and begin 2010, for that matter.

On a separate note, my DJ group, G-Factor, will be spinning at Moonchine in Miami this Saturday, from 8-9:30pm. We're pretty hyped about that as well. I'm pretty much sick of having to work and not being able to pay some bills off quick...so yea, we're trying to be even more aggressive about making it in this fucked up business. It is what it is, so we just gotta stay focused and on point with our shit. I guess I can include some of the new/newly discovered/newly rediscovered music that I've been jamming to lately...so here goes...

The Toxic Avenger - Bad Girls Need Love Too - EP
La Roux - Bulletproff
Drake - Forever
Blatta & Inesha and Congorock - Stepoff!/People
Erol Alkan & Boys Noize - Waves/Death Suite
Kanye - Better Than I've Ever Been/Classic
Brand New Heavies - Heavy Rhyme Experience: Vol. 1
- Excursions: Remixes & Rare Grooves
- The Brand New Heavies Download
P.M. Dawn - The Best of P.M. Dawn
Soul II Soul - Volume 1: Keep On Movin'
Ronald Clark - Get Deep (Timmy Regisford Shelter Mix)
Fatboy Slim vs. Funkagenda - What the Fuck - EP
Diddy vs. Felix da Housecat - Jack U (Remixed) - EP
Consequence - Whatever You Want - Single
Deadmau5 - For Lack of a Better Name (Bonus Track Version)
Dirty Money - Love Comes Down
- Angel (featuring The Notorious B.I.G.)

Sleep is overrated...sometimes...

Been trying to post more often, hopefully someone's noticed...or not, whatev. Anyway, I'll be in Orlando this weekend for a wedding...2 of my peeps are getting married (to each other, obviously), and it should be a good time overall.

Moving on, I've purposely avoided blogging about the Taylor vs. Ye situation, but I will post something this week, maybe...we'll see...regardless, I'm a fan of him, and I'm biased! Been bumpin' that 808's album all week! Love that shit!

Off to get some sleep now, its 5:53am! WTF! Peace and love.

More new music to check out...part 3?

I'll just get right to it...

Jay-Z - The Blueprint 3 ...definitely worth the wait.
Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Pt. 2 ...also very well worth the wait...it was #1 in iTunes the week it came out, til BP3 came out later that same week...but regardless, Rae managed to hit #1 WITHOUT a single or a video ahead of time...props to him!
The Bloody Beetroots - Romborama ...heavy/fat synths and loud goodness.
Simian Mobile Disco - Temporary Pleasure ...synthy electro pop at it's finest.
Fake Blood - Mars EP ...very cool shit...heavy synths and dope beats.
The Toxic Avenger - Superheroes EP ...definitely worth a listen.
- Bad Girls Need Love Too EP ...more heavy electronic goodness.
Fedde Le Grand - Let Me Be Real ...dope house track, with some remixes.
Deadmau5 - Ghosts 'n' Stuff EP ...definitlely one of my fav mau5 tracks (of all time...of all time)...with some different mixes and remixes...good shit.
A-Trak - Say Whoa EP ...this dude is a badass DJ/turntablist...and he makes some dope music too!

That's it for now...stay tuned for more soon!
Just a promo video for a recent remix by Peur GNeoUs...plenty more on the way!

iTunes has been an addiction lately...

Some new/new to me (& maybe you) music for your listening pleasure...

David Guetta - One Love ...great stuff, though a bit on the more pop-ish side of house/dance music, but good nonetheless.
Steve Angello & Laidback Luke - Show Me Love ...it has like 8 versions of the track, but they're all pretty dope.
Steve Angello - Be EP ...in true Angello fashion, very hard/heavy kicks and whatnot.
- Gypsy ...more of Angello's signature flavor, with the addition of 6 remixes by other folks, which are even better in some instances...you be the judge?
- Isabel ...great stuff.
- Teasing Mr. Charlie EP ...yea, some more of his signature stuff.
Steve Angello & Laidback Luke - Otherwize Then EP ...yea...nuff said.
Steve Angello & AN21 - Flonko ...love this track, though very simple...but the sample used in it is dope! And it's actually in a vlog by A-Trak from a while back...where he's in the studio with Steve Angello...look for it on YouTube.
True Faith w/ Final Cut - Take Me Away (2007 Retro: Detroit Remixes) ...if anyone's heard "Warrior's Dance" off the latest album by The Prodigy, then you'll recognize this track...which comes in a full album of remixes...bout 10 of them...but dope stuff...all very different...reminiscent of the 90's rave scene too.
Scientist - The Bee ...very 90's rave scene-ish...love it. Laid back type of beats and a synthy bassline, which I'm a total sucker for!
Shut Up and Dance - Dance Before the Police Come! ...haven't had the chance to listen to the entire album yet, but what I've heard is dope! It's 90's hip-hop at its best, but from London (I think)...and has a touch of that 90's rave scene at times...good stuff. I'll update about it later.

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

So I got to watch Inglourious Basterds again, and yea, that is truly a great film. Some of Quentin's best work, really...but the actors are all great too, especially Brad Pitt. Dude is hilarious in it! Oh, and Eli Roth as "the bear jew" is fuckin great too. I love the fact that all the actors are almost all foreign, so they actually speak the languages in the film. I think that makes a huge impact on making a great film.

Anyway, still have yet to see District 9 though, so maybe that'll happen sometime this week...we'll see I guess. Been working on a lot of InfiniGlo related stuff like music (duh), logos, videos, etc...so I'm excited as much as I am frustrated...mainly because I'm not ill with the PhotoShop skills like I want to be...so yea, making shit happen on there how I want it, isn't the easiest thing for me. Nonetheless, I do my best to fuck with the programs enough to at least learn the basics. I have the potential artistically for visual shit, but being that I'm not familiar with those wonderful programs, I have to kinda just half-ass logos, etc, until I have someone that can either recreate what I want, or at least clean it up. I can take some dope pics with a regular camera, or draw up some cool shit, but can't for the life of me translate that into the digital visual stuff...oh, but I will! Little by little! Moving on...

I been listening to the Blackout 2 album from Red & Meth, and I gotta say, it's no 5-mic classic, but it's worth a listen for the most part. It's what you'd usually expect from them, so it is what it is, feel me? I'm not done with the album yet, only half-way, but I've like it so far...I'll recap later on. I think I'm gonna start posting up critiques of music and films soon. I've been thinking about it for some time, but never actually do it...but! I figure, since blogs about shit can help make a presence for a blogger, then fuck it, why not talk some shit (good and/or bad) about movies and music, right? (writing this as I'm bobbin' my head to "How Bout Dat" from the Blackout 2 album...good shit.)

Ok to be continued as usual...be sure to check out the InfiniGlo Blog too. There's gonna be a lot of updates coming soon...like very soon...so stay tuned y'all! Peace and love.

Monday, August 24, 2009

I think I may watch the "Basterds" once again...I don't mind, but I want to see District 9 asap too! Oh well, can't say no to a movie by Quentin, right? In the meantime, another quick update...there's been a lot of hard work going on within the InfiniGlo camp, so stay tuned for a ton of new tracks, mixes, videos, etc coming soon! I'm excited, are you??? Anyway, I keep saying I'm gonna start doing vlogs so I don't have to type, but I never get around to it. I will eventually, or at least once in a while, promise! That's all for now peeps, peace and love.

Updates...

Watched Inglourious Basterds the other nite and damn, what a great piece of work! Quentin has once again delivered a great film, which is actually somewhat related to history. I highly recommend it if you're a fan of his work, if you're not, then you probably won't dig it. It's got tons of funny parts, and of course, there's tons of blood and violence, as usual. Wouldn't be a Quentin film without that stuff. Anyway, go see it!

On a different note, go check out my friend's blog, as it's sure to put you on to some cool shit. Other than that, I'll be posting some links and vlogs soon, just gotta find the time (today was the first day in like 4 days that I even get on my computer). Peace and love y'all.

More new music to check out...

Some more new music for y'all to check out...though some may not be so new, but whatev.

Black Eyed Peas - The Invasion of Boom Boom Pow...the Boys Noize and Guetta remixes are dope!
The Clipse featuring Kanye - Kinda Like a Big Deal...Ye's production & lyrics are on point!
Fedde Le Grand - Scared of Me (Promised Land & Provenzano Remix) [feat. Mitch Crown]
Chromeo - I Can't Tell You Why

Gonna be posting more shit soon...on the label's blog too (link above)...so stay tuned! For now, peace & love.

Because it's been a while...

I know I know, I always say in my previous posts that I'm gonna update more often, and I totally mean to...but then life happens, and yea, been real busy since my last post. Mostly due to workin' A LOT more at work, but no complaints on that cuz I need the money. I work for a great company, where I get to have fun for the most part and be a part of exciting events and whatnot. Most recently, the iPhone 3GS launch. I got to work the overnite shift prior to the launch, and it was pretty cool. Soooo much detail goes into putting an Apple Store together, especially for a new product. When I look at my store now, I'm like, "wow, I put that together!" or "I helped put that there", etc.

Anyway, aside from work-related business, I've been workin' hard on my music as well. It's been a bit difficult to get as much done as we used to get done, as we've both been workin' a lot to pay off some debts. But I got to spin at The Womb last month, which was pretty cool. I should be doing that again soon, so I'll keep y'all posted. Oh! We're also trying to get booked for this lounge in mid-town, so keep ya posted on that too! We hadn't spun together for like 3 weeks or so, but we threw down a DOPE 3-hr set on Friday at the studio...so we felt great after that, as it seemed we hadn't stop practicing. Let's see what else???

Oh yea, I got to hang with some old friends for a bday party, so that was fun. Hadn't seen or hung with some of those peeps since like high school! Speaking of which, one of those friends is a fellow blogger, and has some pretty interesting info fo yo ass...so yea, check out karla-la-eats.blogspot.com for some great info/advice/opinions on food and whatnot. Gonna add her to my "links" list now too.

Back to the music talk though...one of my groups/projects is about to drop an EP on iTunes, but dont' worry, I'll make a HUGE deal about that when it comes....so you won't miss out! We're also planning to shoot a video for 2 of the tracks on that EP...one will be stop-motion-ish, the other will (hopefully) be animated. These types of videos take more time obviously, so be patient! We have a bunch of projects due for this summer, for all of our musical identities, which if you don't know about, ask me in person sometime, cuz it's hard to explain our ideas and concepts and alter egos via the internet...and we kinda don't plan to talk much about that anyway lol. So on that note, I go by many names, but for this blog, y'all know me as Gianni or Morelli...signin' off...peace and love.

P.S. I'm thinkin' of switching to vlogs from now on, just cuz I'm too lazy to type sometimes.

Morelli's back...though I never really left!

Soooo....yea I know, I always say I'm gonna start blogging more often, but it's always like a month between blog posts. Well, this time around, I think I'll stick to it because there's A LOT coming my way, and I'm really excited about it!

For starters, my job's going great, and it's looking like it may get more greater (I know it's incorrect grammer, duh!). I love my job, even through it's ups and downs, I wouldn't want to work anywhere else honestly.

Ok, moving on...my real and true passion in life is music, if y'all didn't already know that, now you do! I have several projects going on, and it looks like they're finally gonna get somewhere. It's pretty exciting, but a lil bit scary, not gonna lie. Scary because it's like, OH SHIT, WE MIGHT ACTUALLY MAKE IT!, type of scary, ya know? Anyway, like I said, I'll be blogging more often because I'll be (over)promoting all my music stuff for everyone to go check out/download/buy from iTunes. I thank everyone for their support in advance too, and if you've never supported, we're bout to make you feel stupid! Ha.

Besides all that great stuff, there's been some rough times here and there with family and friends and whatnot, but fuck it, I try to stay positive and have positivity around me. If you're negative about something, I'm usually like straight up, get over it and man up or w/e...which tends to get me into beef with peeps, but again, fuck it...it is what it is. I think I'm done for now because I have plenty to do today, on my like 2nd or 3rd Sunday off in months...gotta stay productive, ya know. Peace and love from yours truly.

Back up in thissss...

Ok, so yea, it's been like a month since my last post, I know. I've had a busy couple of weeks back to back since then, so I'll try and catch everything up as best as possible...

A lot of work has been put into my music over the past month or so, both producing and DJing. Most of the effort was in preparation for the Winter Music Conference. We wanted to be prepared in case we had to perform, spin, or hand stuff out. When conference time came, we unfortunately didn't get to do any of that, but it's all good. We got to meet some great contacts and got to see some dope DJ's and artists do their thing. It was my first time going to Ultra as well, and that was quite the experience, I must say. I mean, the artists were badass, but the peeps in the crowd were fuckin' retarded for the most part....drunk and high, twirling around fuckin' fairy glowsticks, and wearing some of the most ridiculous outfits I've ever seen. But alas, this is unfortunately what makes up Ultra's crowd usually. Oh well.

Besides that wackness, the WMC was a great experience in general, and we hope that a lot of good come out of it. I took a bunch of great pics of course, and a few videos as well. The pics and videos are up in my gallery on Mobile Me...if you don't know what that is, look it up! Anyway, here's the link to the gallery. Feel free to view the pics and videos, though I still have to upload about 5 or 6 more videos, because they take forever to upload.

Aside from that, we have some stuff in the works at the moment, so that'll hopefully all work out for once. I'll keep the blog up to date more often now, since I should be having much more to write about. Peace and love.

WTF?!

I got this post from RNDM and thought I should share it because it's something that can affect a lot of peeps.

I know I'm a lil late...

But!...I just wanted to share the latest video from Kanye with y'all, which I might add, is a truly creative piece of work. Anyone that talks shit about him based on a video they might've seen of him flipping out at an award show or an interview, can suck it! The man has a great deal of talent, which you can't deny, but occasionally he got a little carried away. So what? It happens. The dude's learned from his mistakes, and he seems to keep learning as it happens. He's been humble various times in interviews, songs, and even in his latest performances. I was fortunate enough to go to the Glow in the Dark Tour when it came to Miami, and it was amazing! All the acts were great, of course, but Ye's set was really dope and creative. He recently also did a vh1 Storytellers, and that too was pretty awesome. I can totally understand him when he overreacts about his music not winning or stuff like that because I'm a musician, and I know exactly how it feels to not be recognized for your achievements sometimes, especially when you're passionate about them. It happens to the best of us. Anyway, enough of my rant about Kanye, here's the video to "Welcome to Heartbreak" featuring his artist Kid Cudi. Enjoy.

Monday, March 2, 2009

Uh oh, is ya boy's learning some text edit skills???

Well perhaps a lil bit. Peep the new logo! It might not be as cool as other peeps' logos, but whatever, I'm no pro at PhotoShop or anything! I think it's dope for my first shot at it though, so I hope y'all dig it. You can probably expect more where that came from...just gettin' my feet wet! Peace and love.

Updates and whatnot...

So yea, it's been a minute since my last post, but I've been busy and lost in my list of things to do. I was mainly consumed by the cleaning up/rearranging of my home studio, but I did have the chance to get out of the house a bit here and there, thankfully.

Here's a quick recap of the past few weeks...sorta...

I have been frustrated as fuhhh with work stuff, life stuff, family stuff, etc...but trying my best to deal with/accept it all as best as possible. I have had a couple of those epiphanic moments...where I've realized a lot about a lot, if that makes any sense. Anyway, long story short, it made me lose focus for a sec, but I quickly recovered back into focus of everything that is truly important for me to focus on at the moment...and in the future for that matter. It's funny how things can change so quick sometimes, and quite the opposite other times...but alas, that's life, as they say...whoever "they" are.

I've been blessed with getting to know some really cool peeps lately too (shouts to my girls from RNDM and some of my peeps from work), which is cool and refreshing. I haven't partied as much as usual lately, but it's all good. Sometimes I just have to accept that too...like hanging out with a friend and watching Vicky Cristina Barcelona tonite, getting home at a decent time for a change. Great movie by the way...Penelope's Oscar was well-deserved! And God bless Scarlett Johansson! Anyway, I think that was a bit of an ADD/rant moment, but fuck it, it's my blog right? I'm entitled to do that.

Oh, almost forgot!...if anyone's into knowing the latest celeb gossip, you MUST check out a brand new blog by my adopted little sister La Femme Fatale like asap! In her words..."READ IT, FOLLOW IT, LOVE IT!" Look out Perez and TMZ! Homegirl knows her shiet!!! Ok, that's about all I can think of for now, but I will be posting more frequently from now on (hopefully)...and the InfiniGlo blog is up and running, but is post-less at the moment, as I've been busy and haven't gotten around to posting anything yet. Oh!...the Winter Music Conference is right around the corner as well, and it will hopefully bring us some great opportunities. Stay tuned here and to my mobile blog, and of course, support the cause(s) via those links posted under the links section! Peace and Love.

All new for the 2-0-0-9...

For those of you that don't already know, I have a hip hop group called Diversatile, and my emcee alias is Morelli, which is my mom's maiden name, for those of you that might wonder why I chose the name...

So yea, the new year has just begun, and I'm already thinking about what I'm gonna be doing next year.  Main reason being that I have big plans and dreams, and will stop at nothing to make things happen this year.  Real talk!

I started this blog last year and this is my first post, so I'm making the effort to start posting more often, cuz the truth is, I usually have a lot to say about just about anything, so why not post some shit up for peeps to read, right?

At the same time, this is MY blog, for MY thoughts, that I wanna share with peeps out there, so if you don't like it, oh well.  If you have some comments, hopefully positive ones, feel free.

Anyway, up next for me this year is making my company's name and artists/projects household names.  I've been working on this for almost 10 years now, but only really been putting the heart into it over the past couple of years.  Shit's hard work, nah mean?  And on top of that, I've had tons of shit in the way...school, girls, family, friends, myself....now I'm over all that shit...letting shit get in the way of my success I mean.  I've learned how to prioritize my life, to include family and friends, girls as well...just not too concerned with settling down any time soon.  Gotta get my shit together first!

In the meantime, in between time...I have a cool job that I love...working for one of, if not the best, companies ever to exist.  I plan to make some progress within the company as well, so it's like a back-up plan, that isn't really a back-up plan...if that makes any sense.  I guess what I mean is that I'm not gonna neglect my job for my personal plans and vice versa.

Ok, so now that I've broken the ice, so to speak, I hope peeps out there keep tuning in and find what I have to say interesting, at least some of the time.  We got a whole new direction this year, with a barrier-breaking administration coming our way, and other positive things like hybrid cars and organic foods...so let's make the best of 2009, and learn from our mistakes in 2008.  I will at least.  Thanks for tuning in.  Peace and love.
